Hello BITSoc members,
Happy New Year from the BITSoc team, and welcome back! I hope 2025 is off to a fantastic start for you.
I’m Krupa, your BITSoc President, and I’m thrilled to kick off Winter 2025 with you! My role is to ensure that our society continues to represent and support students across the Faculty of Business and IT and to help foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging community for all. We’ve got plenty in store this semester to help you connect with peers, develop new skills, and embrace all the opportunities our society and its clubs have to offer.
Here's What’s Happening with BITSoc in January
OTSU Fair: Your student union has organized a fair to welcome you on January 8th in the SHA lobby. Stop by our booth to meet the team and learn how to get involved. Whether you’re a new or returning student, this is a great chance to connect directly with our team.
Faculty Meet & Greet: On January 8th from 11 AM to 2 PM, there's another amazing event parallelly held in BIT (formerly UB) atrium. A casual lunch to connect with your professors and peers outside the classroom, build relationships, ask questions, and gain valuable insights with fresh pizza! RSVP Now!
Frosty Connections: Join us on January 27th from 6:30 PM onwards for a cozy winter-themed social at 2200 North - the sports bar on our campus. This is your chance to meet industry professionals, gain valuable insights, and build meaningful relationships that can shape your career journey. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to grow your network and learn from experts across industries relevant to all majors! RSVP here.
Gala Theme Contest: BITSoc is looking for creative and exciting theme ideas to shape one of our biggest events - the annual BITSoc Gala! The winning theme will be implemented for our Gala on Apr 25th, and the winner will receive a BITSoc gift hamper. Don't miss the chance to submit your idea before January 15th and inspire us with your vision.
Join our Team: We’re looking for passionate first-year students to join BITSoc as coordinators. No prior experience needed, only enthusiasm and willingness to learn. This is your chance to build leadership skills and make a meaningful impact. Applications are now open.
